Kybella - Patients ask, Dr. Ringpfeil answers
Please feel free to use the blog below to share information about Kybella or to ask Dr. Franziska Ringpfeil a question that might be of interest to others.
Dr. Abraham offers comprehensive Integrative dermatology consultations where she combines traditional dermatology with complementary and alternative approaches to address skin issues. Integrative dermatologists consider the whole person, not just the skin condition. The field of integrative dermatology recognizes the interrelation of various factors, including lifestyle, diet, stress, and environmental influences, in contributing to skin health.
Integrative dermatology is a relatively new and evolving field, and not all dermatologists may follow this approach. While some of us incorporate aspects of the goals above, Dr. Abraham has undergone rigorous training and has been certified as an integrative dermatologist.
Comprehensive first-time integrative consultation $750 (1*,
2*)
Follow-up integrative consultation $380 (1*, 2*)

Will Kybella treatments for reduction of adipose tissue below the chin yield positive results for someone 65 years of age?
Age is not as much a factor for fat as is inelasticity of skin. If you had significant light exposure during your lifetime and skin is now lax as a result of it, Kybella is not advisable. You may consider Precision Tx (formerly know as Smart Lipo). If your skin is tight and submental fat obscures the neck-face junction, Kybella will work well
I am a dermatology patient with your practice. I am interested in the off lablel procedure of the bra line with Kybella. Does your practice do this or for the chin only.
Yes, we do offer this off label use of Kybella. Please schedule a consultation with Dr Bird or Dr Gonzalez.
Would medicare pay for this?
Reduction of adipose tissue below the chin is considered an elective procedure and is not covered by insurance or Medicare. The same is the case if Kybella is used “off label” for the reduction of adipose tissue elsewhere on the body including in lipomas.
